Will the program include homework?
Yes.
Who can parents contact for concerns while their students attend the program?
Parents can send an email to a program coordinator.
Is class attendance mandatory?
What happens if students miss a class or are late to class?
Students need to send a letter of excuse to a program coordinator. Excessive missed classes or showing up late can get students removed from the class.
Will students need an ID card?
Typically yes, if we were on campus however, this year is virtual. ID cards are not necessary.
Will students physically meet at any point?
No.
Can students switch classes?
Students must request a change no later than the first day of class.
Can students withdraw from classes?
Yes. An exit interview will be required.
Will students be given exams?
Yes.
Can students make up missed days/work?
Yes. Students must speak with their instructor.
How many students are accepted into the program?
A total of 40 students are accepted in the summer program each year.
Is the Summer Program mandatory to be in Urban Scholars?
While you have the right to choose how you spend your summer, we strongly encourage you to participate in the summer program.
How can students prepare for the Summer Program?
Complete the Summer Program application and submit all required forms. Be present and prepared to learn!
